Parade of Lights - Fri/Dec. 1,
'00 - ALERT! YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS THIS EVENT.
Friday the streets of Downtown Denver will come alive for the annual AT&T
Parade of Lights. With an attendance of 350,000, now in its 26th year,
this holiday extravaganza is the most popular holiday event in Denver.
The parade winds its way through downtown, featuring
10 of the state's best high school marching bands, as well as a multitude
of floats and giant balloons. Among the most popular floats are "The Arrival
of Santa" and "The Clock Tower," which rises 32 feet in the sky, depicting
Denver's skyline. Best of all, the parade is free, though always extremely
crowded. This is the closest we Denverites come to a New York City Christmas
¡Excitement=MC² + Booze = Speed of Light!
Yes, that's right, this Friday night Liquid Therapy goes
to the Parade of Lights, an overwhelming, yet essential Denver holiday
experience. But we won't be standing on the corner, bumped and jostled
by heroin-addicted youth in the freezing cold winter darkness. No way,
not us: L.T. has reserved a beautiful, spacious wrap-around third-floor
suite with six oversized picture windows at the Hotel
Monaco, a swanky 1940s European hotel on the corner of 17th and Champa,
right on the parade route. Just $15 per person -- includes, the best
views in town, booze, and a Jacuzzi. RSVP
This newer downtown hotel sits you right down in the lap
of luxury. And you get your very own goldfish! The Atmosphere Stepping
into the Monaco is like stepping into a scene from "Casablanca," minus
