OKTOBERFEST     Friday  -  September 15

"On October 17, 1810, Prince Ludwig I married Saxon Princess Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen and the wedding reception was so great, it's still around almost 200 hundred years later. Now known as Oktoberfest, the celebration is even more popular than German tennis stars with over ten million people attending the Munich festival. Larimer Square probably won't reach the ten mil mark but this is an event not to missed.

The traditional German festival returns on Larimer Square.  The official Bier Garten mimics the celebration in Munich-rows of picnic tables, authentic German cuisine, music, dancing, and bier - a reason to raise your steins!"

The Oktoberfest is now celebrated in September, because the chilly Bavarian October winds blowing from the Alps, can surprise with an early cold and snow.  The 16-day Fest always starts on a Saturday in September and ends on the 1st Sunday in October.
