Opera on the Rocks!         Friday, July 14, 2000

We're taking Liquid Therapy on the rocks this week Friday instead of Thursday for a free concert!

"The creation of Red Rocks Park began millions of year ago when the Colorado region was engulfed by a vast inland sea. Over the course of time, deposits of sand settled in layers on this sea floor. As the ancient waters receded, the sediment hardened.

Eventually great upheavals of the earth's crust occurred, and the hard sediment layers were thrust upward by the same earthquakes and slow earth movements that formed the Rocky Mountains. Many of the rocks have been pushed up on end producing nearly vertical formations.

Iron oxide deposits produced the many shades of red color found in the rock formations. The effects of erosion has helped to create the many faces and forms seen in the beautiful and unique rocks."

But first we'll stop by the Morrison Inn.
