NASA in Boulder @ Club Level Folsom Field - Fri.April.18.14
OK, I've been a little obsessed recently with Cosmos and it's going to be 75 degrees this Good Friday. If you have the afternoon off, like I do, let's go up to Folsom Fields Club level, have a beer, and listen to Charles Bolden. Then we'll stroll by the hill and have a drink on a patio or two before we end up somewhere on Pearl for FAC. It's going to be a good kick off to the Holiday Weekend.
NASA..."currently has spacecraft speeding toward Jupiter and Pluto and roving on Mars, and is searching for planets that could potentially harbor life beyond our solar system. An unprecedented mission to capture and redirect an asteroid to an orbit near to Earth is in the planning stages, and the Space Launch System and Orion Crew Vehicle are in development to take astronauts to the asteroid and on to Mars. In a time of fiscal austerity, the agency’s strategic approach will continue to achieve the big milestones that no one else can attempt."
Doors open at 2:30 p.m., lecture begins at 2:45 p.m.
