The tapping of our Schwarzhacker Black Lager. Yes, that means free samples for the first half hour. Come early to get a seat. Then it's off for a Lunar Eclipse!
The full moon will be rising in the east when it enters the darkest part of the Earth's shadow at 8:03 p.m. MDT. The moon's disk will be totally blotted out for 52 minutes, between 9:14 p.m. and 10:06 p.m. -rmn
Lunar eclipses, unlike solar eclipses, (like our #134 Solar Eclipse) can be safely viewed with the naked eye without protective equipment. Free public viewing will be offered from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Thursday at CU's Fiske Planetarium. Binoculars and small telescopes will be available at the eclipse party, said director Doug Duncan.
