WINTER PARK/MARY JANE SEASON ENDS WITH A SPLASH
One of Winter Park's most anticipated events, the wet and wild "Dole Spring Splash" celebrates the joy of spring skiing. Start with a hilarious "Mary Jane look-alike costume contest," then cheer on skiers and snowboarders as they struggle through a crazy obstacle course that includes skimming across a pond of icy water to reach the finish line. This event also marks the closing day for Winter Park Resort. For registration and more information, call (970) 726.1569.
2001-02 COMES TO A CLOSE
To wrap up the Winter Park/Mary Jane season, the zany Spring Splash events begin at 10:30 a.m. Costume contest runs first, Splash race immediately follows. Competitors in both the ski and snowboard divisions will have to start the comical course by coming out of the gate backwards.
From there, participants must navigate their way through the "bamboo jungle," the hay bale obstacle, the "oh no" zone, and across or into a pond of icy water that marks the finish line.

The event is open to the first 130 participants. Cash prizes will be awarded to top finishers in each of the four divisions for women, men, skiers, and snowboarders.
MARY JANE LOOK-A-LIKE CONTEST
Before the Splash race and back by popular demand, the Mary Jane look-a-like contest encourages participants to dress like "our own Mary Jane", the namesake of Mary Jane mountain. Contestants who most resemble this local legendary lady have the best chance of winning. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in each division.
